For Girls Like You is a magazine geared towards girls aged 6-11, but it doesn’t have the typical advertisements and less than graceful articles or immodest clothing like those that are found in other magazines for girls in this age group. Each issue arrives packed with all of the fun topics that girls love, like travel, fashion tips, interviews with positive role models, and activities like quizzes, drawing, or puzzles. The Fall 2012 magazine we received includes an uplifting article about a Haiti orphanage, tips on having a great school year, interviews with a surfer girl, and a songwriter/singer, and a fun quiz about how well your friends know you, as well as lots of other stories and activities.
My daughter really enjoyed the magazines, but her favorite was the activity that allowed her to express her artistic side by drawing her favorite outfit. I enjoyed the magazine and its focus on reminding my daughter to be aware of God’s presence in her life, to be kind to others, and to use the special gifts and talents that He has given her for His glory. This magazine featured girls who spoke about using their talents and gifts to show God’s love to others, which my daughter connected with as she enjoys dancing in a praise and worship ensemble. Each issue features “Sprinkles” that encourage girls to internalize the message of the articles and to spur their creativity. In addition, For Girls Like You encourages reader submissions of these “Sprinkles,” and some of these submissions are featured in upcoming magazines.
Here is Annabelle’s Fashion fun Sprinkles page where she drew a dress with a feather hem:

For Girls Like You also offers a journal based on Psalm 139 that offers girls the opportunity to reflect on each verse, as well as to express their creativity in coloring the page if they choose to do so. I know that my daughter will adore this when it arrives.

For Girls Like You is published quarterly. Individual magazines are $6.99, an annual subscription is $18.99, and a two year subscription is $29.99. The journal is $8.99. Coupon codes can be found in their current newsletter, which you can sign up for by emailing sprinkles@forgirlslikeyou.com. Their Facebook page also features their current magazine, product specials, and events local to Dallas, Texas.
I purchased an annual subscription and a journal for my daughter, because she loved the magazines that we received so much.
Disclaimer: My daughter and I received two magazines to review and two to pass along to the dance ministry that my daughter participates in that I have posted about before, Praise In Motion/En Pointe. My opinions are my own and may differ from yours.

This sounds like wonderful magazine for young girls. I like that it also has interactive components.
Thanks for sharing, my 11 year old daughter would love this!
This is for sure a hit. It’s just right I think to have this kind of magazine.
This sounds like a great magazine and something my daughter would really enjoy.
I love that this is a magazine for pre-teens and teen girls. They need their own thing and this is perfect!
This is the perfect magazine for my niece. Thank you for the post.
This sounds like a great magazine for little girls. I will keep this in mind for my daughter as she gets older!
I am so blessed by this post, thank you! I love seeing your daughters “Sprinkles” sections. Thank you again for sharing the Magazine!
I love the idea behind this magazine and that my daughter who’s not quite this age can get a “big kids” magazine that has a message and purpose I agree with! Kids love to do what bigger kids do and I’m happy to see a magazine that represents an age group properly to where my younger daughter can learn from and take GOOD notes from! Best of all, I don’t have to worry about what she’s looking at.
That sounds like a great magazine for girls. I will have to keep it in mind for when my daughter is older.
